Mr. Udaya Bahadur Ranamagar has assumed the responsibility of Consul General at Consulate General of Nepal in Hong Kong on 22 December 2020.
Mr. Ranamagar joined Nepalese Civil Service in the year 2004. He performed his duties as an officer from 2004 to 2011, and as an under-secretary from 2012 to 2015 in many agencies, departments and ministries. From 2016 onward, he has been serving as a Joint Secretary of the Government of Nepal. He has gained the wide range of experiences while working in the different ministries of Nepal. He has also served as the Director of Department of Commerce and Supply under the Ministry of Commerce and Supply, Government of Nepal. Before assuming the position of Consul General in Hong Kong, he served as a Chief District Officer of Jhapa District in Nepal.
During his previously served positions, he introduced the holistic governance reform programs in many district administration offices that are considered as landmark reform programs.
Mr. Ranamagar got his master degrees in Business Study from the Tribhuvan University of Nepal and in Economics from the Ryukoku University, Japan. He has also got Executive Direction Management training from Korea and China. He will be serving as Consul General of Nepal in Hong Kong for four years.
He is married with two children.
