CONDOLENCE EXPRESSED BY LOCAL OFFICIALS AND CONSULAR CORPS

CHIEF SECRETARY OF HKSAR, DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF OCMFA AND CONSULAR CORPS EXPRESS CONDOLENCES

Hon. Chan Kwok-ki, Chief Secretary for Administration, Government of HKSAR visited the Consulate today to sign the Condolence Book to honour the memories of the lives lost in the devastating flash floods in the Bhote Koshi River area of Nepal on 26 August 2026. He expressed solidarity with the people of Nepal during this difficult time. Acting Consul-General Mr. Satish Gurung thanked the HKSAR government for their generous assistance, updated on the latest rescue and relief efforts, and informed that tourism infrastructure in other parts of Nepal are intact to welcome visitors.

Earlier, Director-General Mr. Wei Wenxiu from the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in HKSAR, visited the Consulate to sign the Condolence Book. Representatives from HK Consular Corps have also visited and signed the Book to express their solidarity with Nepal.
